A Future Forward with
Continuity and Momentum

FUMC Morehead City on the motion to disaffiliate, 464 voted for, 112 voted against, and 1 abstained. Motion to Disaffiliate passed.

These are challenging times for the people called Methodist!  Many know the Methodist Church in America has been in serious decline. Tensions are high in our denomination as beliefs and practices are no longer held in common.  We have not been able to hold a General Conference where some things could have been more gracefully handled.  The word “united” is a stretch for the people called Methodist.  Some have heard about a new way offered for Methodists to choose to be aligned with either the United Methodist Church or the Global Methodist Church. We invite you to watch the videos on this page, read the letters, and attend information meetings to be fully informed about the decision facing this congregation.
