First Methodist Church adopts 50 families from Project Christmas Cheer of Carteret County each year. They are adopted by individuals, Sunday School classes, and other groups. Those not adopted, are shopped for by the church shoppers. In addition to the gifts purchased by the persons who adopt the family, we furnish a box of food for each family.

What can you do?
1)Adopt a family or child
2) Give to the Christmas Cheer Fund to purchase food and gifts for those not adopted
3) Help Deliver December 17th

Instructions for adopting a Christmas Cheer family:
1. Choose the family you want to adopt.
2. Keep the information sheet and sign it our on the sign out sheet at the front desk. List your name in the column: Adopted By. Include your phone number.
3. Purchase your gifts, wrap them, put the person's name and family number on each package. (It is important to put the family number on the tag in case the package gets separated)
4. Submit a list of the gift purchased and wrapped.
5. Return the packages to the church Fellowship Hall no later than Thursday, December 15th.
6. If you are available to deliver your gifts on December 17th at 10:00 am, please let us know. If not, we will make arrangements for someone to deliver to your angel.
7. If you have a child that has requested a bike, it will be furnished by the church. However, we ask that you purchase a helmet. If you prefer to purchase the bike, please let Lisa Chappell know.
