Some of our members have expressed the desire to hear reasons to stay with the United Methodist Church rather than disaffiliate. Our District Superintendent, Jon Strother, will be coming to make a presentation. In preparation for a vote to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church, reviewing the websites on First United Methodist Church’s website give reasons to leave. Exploring websites and articles by Adam Hamilton and Richard Wilke give arguments to stay United Methodists.
All members need to be informed of the issues both for and against disaffiliation before voting.
